3 Point Perspectives Conference

A NIGHT OF IDEAS AND CONNECTIONS

3 Point Perspectives is a one-day virtual conference that explores three perspectives from designers and creatives alike about themes present in the design industry to foster innovative thinking and inspiration.

This year, 3 Point Perspectives pursued Full Disclosure. We asked three designers about their toughest career challenges, how they’ve dealt with them, and what motivates them to keep going.

WATCH THE RECORDING

Session recordings will be available October 13 to those with tickets to 3PP, both recording exclusively and full 3PP access tickets. View the recordings on Youtube using the link through the Eventbrite page.

THE 2022 SPEAKERS

We spoke with an unforgettable gathering of minds with host Marie-Soleil D Veilleux in conversation with Mélissa Deschênes, Valerie Giffin, and Thomassie Mangiok at the 4th annual 3 Point Perspective.

Mélissa is a queer-francophone creative director and partner at Design de Plume, a women-led design circle focused on inclusive and accessible designs for social good. Working with clients internationally, some of DDP's recent clients include the CBC, Special Olympics Canada, the Royal Ontario Museum - ROM, Johns Hopkins University, and the Royal Bank of Canada - RBC. While managing the creative team, Mélissa's ability to make inspiring, informative visuals have given her expertise in storytelling complex ideas.

Valerie is a Provisional RGD who specializes in brand identity design and hand lettering. Her curious nature with technology and art has taken her from drawing, writing music, creating videos, and developing interfaces as a kid to creating entire identity packages for events and creating custom lettering for logos and advertisements. Valerie has received awards early on in her career, along with being featured by Briefbox and the RGD. Her strong appreciation for typography has led to a passion in lettering with goals to eventually develop typefaces. Social justice is a key value, and she aims to communicate important messages through her lettering and typography in ways that truly get the point across. Valerie is in the process of finishing RGD certification before the end of the year.

Thomassie is the centre director for Nuvviti School in Ivujivik, a part-time graphic designer, and a tireless artist and creator across a wide range of mediums. His works include the groundbreaking board game Nunami, various websites including an online lexicon of Inuttitut vocabulary, comic books, magazines, logos, posters, mobile applications, a theatre play, a custom keyboard, an economic growth model, an in-production animated show called Nirukittumiut, and more.
